Get Motivated!

My tip: find a group or some friends to work out with. I got my start in Zumba by going with friends. Now when I go alone.... it just isn't the same. To me Zumba is a social event. That is what makes it feel like a party and not a workout. Are any of my friends out there wanting to try a class but not wanting to go alone???? Post a comment on this and let me know. I will go with you!!!! Plus we together can get a great group of friends to go each week. When you do it this way, you can't wait to go workout. Rather than being the person in this picture!
Finding the right time

Anyone who knows me well... knows that I am NOT a morning person. I have tried 6:00 am Zumba classes and I dread it. This isn't good. You need to enjoy your workout so you will continue it, so it is important to find out what time works best for you. Does working out in the evening make you too wired to sleep? Does getting up in the morning to do it make you want to continually hit the snooze button? Or does a 9am class sound better to you? Try working out in the morning for a week and try some classes at night. Figure out what is best for you to keep you going.
Let Go!!!!

When I first started Zumba I was tight and rigid and at times felt really stupid. As I continued to go I got the hang of my instructors choreography and I found myself watching myself in the mirror more and being pleased with some of the moves. I found that the more I just let go and really got into the moves, the more fun I had. Now I can follow choreography so much easier and I am out there yelling and having a blast. Before popping my hips would make me so uncomfortable. Now, it is my favorite so I can just "shake it!" We may feel like we look totally ridiculous....but guess what... nobody is looking at you! So my tip: Relax and JOIN the party. If you are fired up you and everyone around you will have more fun! Time to Join the Party and Ditch the workout!
